Watermark doesn't appear in final print, only in display to discourage theft

Bison, Clouds, Mountains • On a ridge below the Grand Teton of Jackson Hole Wyoming I found this lone bison away from her heard clearly hoping to enhance my moody photo of the brooding Grand Tetons on a stormy day. Death Canyon enveloped in white clouds of bad weather, isolates and frames the bison nicely.

No animal symbolizes the American West like the American Bison. This Icon of the west is alive and thriving in Jackson Hole. The Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, of which Grand Teton Park is a part, is the only place in the lower 48 states where an endemic population of wild Bison have survived since prehistoric times. In 1800 millions of these quintessential creatures of the prairie roamed the North America from northern Canada, south into Mexico, and from Atlantic to the Pacific. No one knows how many Bison were here before Columbus arrived, but the guesstimate is about sixty million. They were the largest community of wild animals that the world has ever known.

Known far and wide as Buffalo, they are not. The pioneers found in America a large hoofed animal that was large like a Cape Buffalo of Africa, or a Water Buffalo of Asia, so erroneously  that is what they called them. A cousin of the European Bison the pioneers of America may not have known of them because by 1600 there were very few European Bison left.

Traditional Fine Art Prints • I have all fine art prints printed at Bay Photo, an internationally known custom color lab.  After printing, Bay Photo ships the print to me for inspection and signing, I then ship them along to you. This takes awhile, be patient.

I spec them on “Moab’s  Lasal Exhibition Luster” photo paper. This paper weighs in at a healthy 300gsm, ideal for gallery and exhibition prints, the new fourth-generation coating ensures the highest possible d-max and color holdout.
